Kansas Land Estates

Kansas is largely a farming state. Of its vast 52.3 million acres, over 47 million is used for agriculture. Most of those acres are used for growing crops like wheat, corn and soybeans. During 2005 and 2006, just over 93,000 acres was turned into retail, commercial or residential space. The majority of the development was near Kansas City, Lawrence, and the suburbs of Topeka.
