Missouri Employment and Education

The economy is faring well in Missouri. Between 2003 and 2004, over 23 thousand jobs were created. The wages also increased 1.3%. Unemployment for 2005 was at 5.4%, but has dipped and was down to 4.7% for July of 2006.

Missouri has 2,363 schools statewide. The per pupil expenditure for education was $7,537. The 4th graders who passed the math requirements for both 2003 and 2005 were 79%. The 8th graders who had the basic requirements were 71% in 2003 and 68% in 2005. The graduation rate has increased to 81.3% statewide.
