The rental market is moderately active across New Mexico. With many retirees and baby boomers being “snowbirds,” they only rent for several months of the year. Factoring in the tourists and part time residents, the vacancy rate across the state is 13.1%. Close to 30% of the population of New Mexico lives in rental units.
