Over 143 thousand acres of land was developed into housing and commercial interests. Subdivisions and houses were built around Oklahoma City to support the population growth due to new jobs. Retail and commercial space was created to keep up with the demand for products by the new developments, such as grocery stores, doctor’s office and retail stores.
