Since they were the safest state in the nation, families have been moving to West Virginia and increasing the population of suburbs. The construction rate of new homes was up for the summer of 2006, but down overall from three years ago by 8%. Housing prices have increased between 0-5% from 2005-2006, but housing are remaining on the market between 60-90 days, especially if they are priced over $250K.
