Ancient Egyptian History was one of the longest in the west, beginning in approximately 4000 B.C., and lasting until about 400 B.C. The Ancient Egyptian's culture was spectacular, not because of their rapid growth and development, but their ability to preserve the past and prevail with relatively little change.
