The Environment is the conditions, influences, or forces, by which living forms are influenced and modified in their growth and development.

Why worry about the environment

Increased industrialization towards the 20th century started the trend of increased environmental damage. Many issues now will affect the future in which we live in.
These issues include:

Farming methods with irragation have eroded many areas leaving them barren because of the increased salination

The use of nuclear arms throughout the world still affects many countries today although the side effects are not publicized.

The effects of global warming could start to take their toll with the antartica and arctic poles melting at an alarming rate.

Increased water and air pollution has impacted not only in the atmosphere but in many seas and streams where industrial waste has killed marine life.

Fossil fuels are only a finite resource with the bi-product of pollution, many alternative energy sources are needed.

International Solar Energy Society (ISES) is the world’s largest non-profit membership organisation in the field of renewable energy. It is recognised by the United Nations as a consultative, non-governmental organisation (NGO)

The Society promotes the research, development, and application of technologies that reduce the damaging effects of conventional energy use, through both direct and indirect use of the sun. It actively supports the creation of policy instruments, financing mechanisms and educational initiatives that support this goal
